Making your own touch screen using a 3M MlicroTouch kit was pretty
straight forward once you figured out how to get the bezel apart.

We used:
Westinghouse L2046NV 20.1" LCD Monitor
(Black)
This was very user friendly to get in and out of. I used a dermal
tool on the plastic bezel to clear out some ribs so the touch screen
USB Cable would fit as it had a large not on it. If
you are not going to have this mounted in
a cabinet I don’t recommend
this monitor for a touch screen as the front and rear bezels
could not quite seal. This was OK for us as a creative overlay
would be masking the touch screen bezel anyway.
The tools we ended up using where a dremal tool, screw drivers,
power drill and electrical tape. You will find an extensite
list of tools that are recomented to have in the attached pdf
file but the actual tools needed to build a touch screen will
vary.

how to instal your touch screen. DOWNLOAD HERE
Jumping in was a little hard to do at first but once
I got the second LCD ripped apart in an attempt to install
my touch screen kit I don’t think I would do it any other
way.
Bottom Line about using the touch screen kit is:
- 20.1-inch Touch Screen LCD Monitor, Black, with Resistive
Touch screen, USB Interface $1,599.00
- Westinghouse L2046NV
20.1" LCD
Monitor (Black) $219.00
