Photosmirk and SportsSmirk Touch Screen photo Kiosk

 Creating the photo kiosk for this project was challenging in several ways. The touch screen kiosk needed to have dynamic content that was simple to update. The kiosk needed to archive all photos taken and easily upload them to an online, accessible database and gallery. The touch screen kiosk needed to have the ability for guest to enter their name or message using the onscreen touch screen keyboard. We also designed the touch screen application to have a bill validator and card swipe so that the event coordinator can update pricing or set it up to be free.

 The touch screen application features a live video feed of the operator. The operator can use the touch screen interface to change the graphic overlay on the live video feed. Each interaction with the touch screen kiosk provides visual feedback in the form of a highlight when a button is touched. The operator is allowed to re-do their photo as many times as they would like to get the perfect pose or tryout different template options.

Touch screen kiosk interface screens
The kiosks touch screen interface was created to be simple and self explanatory. Any one will be able to easily create a unique memory of your event. A kiosk user will touch the screen and see a live video feed of themselves in the custom graphic template. The user will then be able to alter the kiosks template in real time. When the user has found a template that suits them, they will touch the capture button on the kiosks screen. The kiosk will count down from 5 allowing them to adjust their pose using the live video. It will then capture an image. The user will be allowed to re-capture a photo if they are not satisfied with the picture. When they are satisfied with the photo the user can us the kiosks touch screen keyboard to enter a name or sentiment that will print of the card.

Configuration Software
The configuration software is used to set the kiosk up for an event. You will be able to brand the right side of the printout with images and text. This software also allows you to select whether you would like to use the bill acceptor with the kiosk or run it in free mode. |

High-End Dye-sublimation printer
The printer was selected to accommodate a 31/2 by 5 print. This size works very well for our sports team clients as that is the size of 2 standard trading cards.
This printer can print 640 prints before changing the media. The media comes in a roll that is easily and quickly changed when needed.

Windows Pentium CPU
Equipping the touch screen kiosk with a standard CPU makes it easy to diagnose problems, fix problems and replace if necessary. |
Bill Acceptor
We are using an MEI 2500 series bill acceptor. This bill acceptor is unique because we can create and print coupons that are accepted like currency. This allows the kiosk to be further branded to special events. |
Privacy Enclosure
This is a portable enclosure made of lightweight aluminum. The skeleton goes up very quickly and is skinned with heavy weight black canvass. |
